Table of Contents

           Quick start on fly-DPI

           1. General search

           2. Protein network map

           3. Ping-pong search

Data source and Statistic model implemented

2. Protein network map:

Network map: A protein network map is instantly generated in response to the selection on "interaction prob." (In this exemplary case,  0.4 of Jra) (Fig. 4).

Color of lines

Lines of deep blue color indicate experimental result. Others differentiate levels of putative protein interacting relationships. In the case of Jra (Fig. 4), it is depicted as a red node. Every putative interacting edge of Jra is marked red. Whereas, the dotted green line depicts interaction between two level-2 proteins.

Solid lines (probability equal to one):

deep blue indicate the interactions existing in the experimental results.
other color depict the putative relations with possibility equal to one.

Dotted lines (probability not equal to one):

deep blue indicate the interactions existing in the experimental results.
other color indicate the interactions are inferred by fly-DPI.

Message boxes

Information of nodes and edges is instantly displayed with messaging boxes while mouse-over any of these objects.

Save

The "save" button on the top of the right column allows users to download all the interacting relationships with Excel format to local PC. Click any protein listed in this column will give its specific map.

Extension of the map

Figure 5.Networking map can be extended to one more level by clicking any node (except for the originally selected protein node) in the current map (in this example, yin, resulting in a new set of yin interacting partners marked in blue)
